Mom. Wife. Librarian. Liberal. Yarn Junkie. Tired.
Time to lighten things up a little. And how do we do that? Why, with cute kid pics, of course!
Mimi loves these barrettes because she thinks they make her look just like Kai Lan, as in “Ni Hao Kai Lan.” They are the only hair dohickies she will leave in for any length of time. So score one for Kai Lan.
And here we have Boo watching the chickens. She was obsessed with the chickens at the pig roast on Saturday. I think she would have climbed right in there with them if she could have. I dread the day she makes the connection between cute squawky feathered friends and the nuggets from McDonalds. Not because I’d mind terribly if my kids decided to go vegetarian — I did, after all — but because those are about the only freaking things she will eat with even a teeny bit of nutritional value.
Ok, look, I know she’s my kid and all and I’m prejudiced, but seriously. Could she be in any freaking cuter? I think not.
“I think there’s hay in my diaper.”
Proof that my kids do, upon occasion, deign to sit with mommy instead of daddy.
Boo has a boo-boo. Seriously, the nickname is starting to be more apt for that reason than any other! On Sunday she fell down the outside stairs at my in-laws and ended up with a nice goose-egg on her forehead to go with the giant red mosquito bite, the scratch on her nose, and the scrapes all over her feet.
And finally, some blatant self-promotion. I’m just pleased to have actually finished a project, even a small one.
Mimi is my oldest daughter; Boo is the youngest. Mimi was adopted; Boo was a surprise. I also have a husband, a teenage stepson, a dog, a cat, a full-time job, a part-time craft obsession, and never enough money. I spend far too much time on the internets and can often be found on Facebook, Ravelry, or the Tarflies forums. My craft (mainly crochet) blog is at Yarn Over and my etsy store is Mimi & Boo..
